What better way to start the day than with a delicious 'bacon buttie' made with Mackenzies bacon, mmmm. It really is 'proper' bacon.  I also love the delicate flavour of their smoked salmon.  I'm tempted to lie when serving their smoked salmon pate and say its my own, but I don't and its always a hit.

Our Heritage

Set amidst the beautiful Blubberhouses Moor lies Mackenzies Yorkshire Smokehouse, a family business creating superb smoked and cured foods.  For more than 25 years we have pioneered and created some of the finest smoked foods available.

Mackenzies launch to fame began by our presenting a sample of our superb oak smoked Scottish salmon to the prestigious Fortnum and Mason’s department store in London. Mackenzies won and from that date many years ago we have grown from strength to strength producing and supplying some of the finest products in the country.

It is ironic that the site we occupy was once home to the famous York Ham Company.  Mackenzies now produce some of the finest quality dry cured bacons and hams available today and many of our customers tell us that our bacon is ‘bacon as it used to be’ a true testament to our quality.

Here at Mackenzies we use traditional methods of curing and smoking, burning only pure oak to ensure the best natural flavours, priding ourselves on producing the best oak smoked foods free from artificial colours and flavourings.

We have an extensive range of the finest Smoked Fish, Poultry and Game and Cheese for you to choose from.  Whether for special occasions or simply good living our food is prepared with great care for your enjoyment.
